Not so long ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans raved about getting Evan Mobley.
He showed some touch and the ability to develop a mid and long-range game, which is a must for the modern power forward.
His offense was a work in progress, but his defense was NBA-ready.
He had the potential to be a disruptive defender right away, and it didn’t take long before he proved scouts were right about him in that regard.
Mobley has established himself as a dominant defensive interior presence, which was on full display in the final sequence of the close win over the Brooklyn Nets.
He swatted a last-second attempt with a clutch block to cap off an epic 26-11 run.

The Cavaliers trailed by double digits late in the game before they made some solid defensive stands.
This team is now sitting on a league-best 11-0 record.
Seeing a team fare so well under new management is unusual.
In fact, this is the first time in NBA history that a coach has won his first 11 games with a new team, and Kenny Atkinson is making history with every consecutive win at this point.
Only 12 teams have started a season 11-0, and the Cavs were never on that list, even before with LeBron James.
Mobley has a lot to do with that, and if he keeps playing with this kind of freedom and confidence, this team will be a major problem in the Eastern Conference.
