Even though the NBA Finals are heading toward a Game 7, the 24/7 news cycle in the NBA never stops as trade rumors are heating up around the league ahead of next week’s draft, with Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant at the heart of it all.
It hasn’t been a secret that Durant and the Suns are exploring an inevitable breakup, with the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat recently being named as Durant’s preferred landing spots.
However, a lot of rumors and reports are still going around, and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently brought the Cleveland Cavaliers into the discussion as he stopped by ESPN Cleveland for 5 Good Minutes With Windy and played coy by repeatedly stating “I don’t think the Cavs are involved now” in response to the possibility of the Cavs getting involved in the Durant sweepstakes.
A very, very, very interesting exchange between @TheOGPAW and @WindhorstESPN on if the Cavs will get involved in a KD trade 👀👀👀

The Cavaliers won 64 games and stomped through the Eastern Conference before bowing out in disappointing fashion at the hands of the Indiana Pacers in the second round, causing many fans and media members to wonder if it’s time for the team to make a big change.
Some reports suggest the Suns aren’t getting the kinds of offers they had hoped for in a potential Durant deal, which could open the bidding up for other teams around the league.
Phoenix has been adamant it will make the best deal for the team instead of taking a discount to get Durant to a place he prefers, so don’t be surprised if Windhorst is onto something here and the Cavs get involved at some point.
