The NBA offseason hasn’t even officially started, but there have already been some fireworks.
The Eastern Conference is shifting, and teams could look very different next season.
The Orlando Magic just pulled off a big trade, landing Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies.
Speaking on the “Wine and Gold Talk” podcast, via Cleveland.com, Chris Fedor talked about how much he fears the Magic.
“I would be incredibly tempted to pick the Magic over every single team but Indiana and maybe New York in a seven-game playoff series. And that includes the Cavs,” said Fedor.
Fedor studies the Cavaliers for a living, so the fact that he is this afraid of the Magic says a lot.
He’s not the only one who believes Orlando could be a huge threat in the new season.
This is precisely why the Magic went forward with their deal for Bane, and gave up a lot to get him.
They knew they needed to improve their shooting, and they felt he would be the puzzle piece they always required.
They also knew they needed to take advantage of next season and the absence of Jayson Tatum and the changes coming to the East.
Now is the time for them to make their move, so they went for it.
Will the Bane trade pay off like the Magic hopes?
Is Fedor right to be so frightened by them?
The Cavaliers were the top team in their conference in 2024-25, but is their window for success closing because of changes made by the Magic?
