The Cleveland Cavaliers needed Ty Jerome to step up without Darius Garland.
Just like it’s been the case all year long, the backup point guard rose to the occasion.
Jerome had an outstanding performance vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 26 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three three-pointers.
More than that, he had his best fourth quarter of the season by putting up 15 points in the final stretch alone.
When asked about that, however, Jerome credited his teammates for finding him.
Talking to Serena Winters after the game, Jerome praised his team for staying true to their principles and bouncing back despite making some mistakes on defense.
Chill guy Ty.

He raved about how everybody kept doing their part to get the win without Garland.
This has been the tone with this team all year long.
It’s not about personal glory, individual numbers, or agendas.
It’s all about supporting one another, uplifting your teammates, and taking care of business regardless of who’s the one taking or making the shots.
Jerome should be the leading candidate for Sixth Man of the Year this season.
Even if other players have better stats, no backup has been more impactful than him this year, and he’s the first guy off the bench for the best team in the Association, so that should be a no-brainer.
Once again, he gave an All-Star-like performance as a starter when his team needed him.
Even so, he couldn’t care less about that: He’s just about winning.
