The Cleveland Cavaliers are known as one of the youngest teams in the NBA right now.
Their core of youthful, powerful, up-and-coming players is easily one of the best in the league.
However, that doesn’t mean the team doesn’t also invest in older, more experienced, and proven veterans.
In fact, they greatly value vets, such as Ricky Rubio.

Rubio spent some time with the Cavs in the 2021-22 season and it was time well spent.
However, he was then traded away after an injury – but his time away from the team wouldn’t be long.
Now Rubio is returning to the team and the fans are ready to welcome him again with open arms – especially because they know what he brings to the Cavs.
Rubio Returns
Rubio is 31 years old and has been playing in the NBA for 11 years.
While his output has been up and down over the last few years, he still managed to average 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists during his recent tenure with the Cavaliers.
Those are good numbers for a guard who has been in the league as long as he has but Rubio does more than score and assist.
He is a very experienced player who really understands the game and has a basketball IQ higher than most.
While Rubio loves to score points, he also likes to mentor and teach the younger guys on the team all that he has learned.
This could greatly help the Cavs in the season ahead.
With the young stars on the team, including newcomer Donovan Mitchell, the team needs to funnel all of that talent into wins.
Rubio and his understanding of the game will help them do just that.
