The NBA world was shocked on Thursday when it was announced that Donovan Mitchell was leaving the Utah Jazz for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This was the end result of behind-the-scenes work, drama, speculation, rumors, and so many tweets and headlines that have dominated for weeks.
The news of Mitchell to Cleveland was a bit surprising, as most people expected him to land with the New York Knicks if he departed from Utah.
Evan Mobley is 21.
Isaac Okoro is 21.
Darius Garland is 22.
Jarrett Allen is 24.
Donovan Mitchell is 25.That’s quite the core in Cleveland.

But now that Mitchell is with the Cavs, he is boosting the team’s already-promising squad.
The young core now consists of Evan Mobley, who is 21, Isaac Okoro, who is also 21, Darius Garland, 22, Jarrett Allen, 24, and now Mitchell, who is 25.
That is the sort of crew that is fantastic, promising, and still has room to grow with its young age.
Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of people predicting the Cavs will become one of the best in the East in the new season.
Cavs’ Core
The Cavaliers were already called one of the most amazing youthful squads in the NBA before the addition of Mitchell.
Adding him only makes something great even greater.
The expectations for this team are now sky-high and they will need to deliver or else you can expect plenty of think pieces about how they have fallen short and haven’t lived up to potential.
With Mitchell on board, the Cavs can achieve a lot more and the idea of them going to the playoffs – if not further – is not far-fetched at all.
Their previous season ended in disappointment and they didn’t reach their goals but now there is really no excuse for that.
The Cavaliers are officially one of the most-watched and most-anticipated teams in the league.
Can they live up to the hype?
