The Cleveland Cavaliers’ backcourt will look different in 2025-26 because they are bringing in a seasoned vet who is ready to start a new chapter in his career.
The Cavaliers recently traded for Lonzo Ball, which could be a very smart move for them.
Max Strus has some opinions about that, and he’s ready to see what Ball can do.
Speaking to the “BIGPLAY Cleveland Show,” Strus admitted that he was stunned by losing Isaac Okoro, but has high hopes for Ball.
“Bringing Lonzo in is going to be huge. Just a pass-first point guard, a guy that can shoot the ball, has been around for a little bit. From everything I’ve heard, he’s another great guy in the locker room, so looking forward to adding him and getting him with this group,” Strus said.

Last season, Ball averaged 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for the Chicago Bulls, only participating in 35 games as he slowly made his way back to full health.
Ball missed multiple years due to serious knee problems, and he didn’t look exactly the same after his return.
There is concern that he will never be 100 percent again.
But even if he isn’t, he could assist the Cavaliers and provide backcourt support, either by being a starter or coming off the bench.
Strus listed Ball’s on-court assets, but also said that he’s a great guy to have in the locker room.
That is important because this Cleveland team has crafted a very strong and healthy chemistry that they do not want to lose.
Ball should be able to fit in seamlessly, and may be able to play better than he did last year.
