Max Strus knows that his Cleveland Cavaliers have a lot to prove in the 2025-26 season, and he says they are ready to get to work.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Strus talked about his team and said they will enter the new year with a chip on their shoulders.
They will use that to their advantage and prove that they are capable of more.
“We’re still learning it. I don’t want to find easy ways out. You’ve got to get through it to get to it. We just got to experience it, and having those past couple of years of experiences of losses in the playoffs like that, getting bounced in the second round is only going to make us better. When we get into this season, we’re going to have that chip on our shoulders that we want to get past the second round, and we know that that’s not the goal—we want to win a championship. We know we have the team capable to do it. We know that it’s gonna take more. Our group is ready and willing to do that this season,” Strus said.
Strus admits that it stung when his team faced early elimination in the playoffs.
For a couple of years in a row, they have fallen short when the bright lights of the postseason shone on them.
They want that to change in 2025-26 and are doing everything in their power to make sure it does.
Strus says the team has something to prove and will come into the season with an aggressive attitude, wanting to silence all the critics who have lost faith in them.
Of course, he understands that even the most diehard and devoted fans will be worried at times because the team could claim the best record in the East again, only to fall short in the playoffs.
Until they go all the way to the Finals, there will be doubts about this team.
Strus knows that, and he will use it as fuel to perform even better.
