One of the most amazing things about the Cleveland Cavaliers this season is that they are a very deep team.
It is not just one or two players who make them successful, it is an entire squad working together and playing to their strengths.
Numerous people in the lineup have been great this year, but Jarrett Allen recently celebrated a particular player: Darius Garland.
Speaking to Cleveland.com, Allen summed up Garland and said he makes the team so much more capable.
“It makes us infinitely better,” Allen said. “He did everything right. Even on the defensive end he was making an impact. If he plays like that every single night, we have a great chance to go all the way.”
In a season full of improvements across the board, Garland has shown some of the most impressive strides.
He is putting up 20.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game this season, up from 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in 2023-24.
But to Allen’s point, Garland is better beyond just scoring.
He has also worked on his defensive game, and that’s a huge reason why the Cavaliers are thriving this year.
Everyone on the roster is playing with more heart, it’s not just Garland who is doing so well.
Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Allen, and others have followed head coach Kenny Atkinson’s lead and they are proving themselves night after night.
There isn’t a singular face of the franchise, and it really has been a team effort that has gotten them this far.
But Garland needs to be praised because 2024-25 is arguably his best season yet.
