The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the worst teams in the NBA in recent years.
So much so that they won a top-3 pick during the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Cavaliers settled on picking Evan Mobley with the third overall pick.
Mobley entered the 2023-24 season with hopes of becoming the best version of himself.
But instead of doing so, Mobley was criticized for regressing by Brian Windhorst, via ESPN Cleveland on Twitter.
“The leap that we were looking for offensively just hasn’t been there, in fact it’s been a regression,” – @WindhorstESPN on Evan Mobley.

There are many ways to succeed in the NBA, but none come close to being a superb scorer.
Mobley was expected to become an elite scorer this season, and he even scored 33 points against the Indiana Pacers in a game.
However, since that explosion on the court, Mobley has seemingly lost his scoring touch.
For the season, Mobley is averaging just 14.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game for the Cavaliers.
Considering the hot start to the season, many expected Mobley to only keep getting better.
But apart from that lone 33-point game, Mobley has struggled to find his touch on the offensive end of the floor.
Thankfully, he can still contribute to the Cavaliers with his elite defensive prowess.
With Jarrett Allen missing the start of the season, the responsibility to protect the team’s rim fell on Mobley.
With Allen getting back to full health, they may get to see Mobley’s true offensive skills.
