The Cleveland Cavaliers‘ days of dominating the Eastern Conference were destroyed when LeBron James left the team in 2018 for the second time in his career.
But the Cavs have completed their rebuilding phase sooner rather than later, thanks to the arrival of Donovan Mitchell via trade.
Last season, Mitchell helped the organization end their playoff drought as they were the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
In the 2023-24 season, Mitchell has kicked off the season with a chip on his shoulder.
Hardwood Paroxysm recently tweeted about Mitchell’s insane numbers so far this season.
So Donovan Mitchell's leading the league in scoring at 32.5 points per game on 54-40-89 splits with five boards and five assists….

To be precise, Mitchell is averaging 32.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game for the Cavaliers this season.
Apart from leading the league in scoring, Mitchell is shooting a sensational 53.8% from the field, including 40.4% from the three-point line.
Lastly, Mitchell is also shooting a solid 88.9% from the free-throw line.
Given Mitchell’s natural skills as a scorer, combined with his tremendous shooting splits, the Cavaliers should be a top team in the Eastern Conference.
But instead of that, the organization has a 3-4 record as they hold the seventh seed in the East.
Mitchell has been doing everything in his power to lead the team to multiple wins amidst the early absences of Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland from the roster,
The two are a key part of the current Cavaliers unit, and without them at full strength early on, the roster has looked average.
