The Cleveland Cavaliers may have dodged a big bullet.
There were some major concerns regarding Jarrett Allen’s status ahead of Sunday’s inter-conference matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.
However, it seems like he’s going to be there.
According to Cavs insider Chris Fedor, the star big man is present at the shootaround.
Allen sustained a finger injury during the big win over the New York Knicks, and while the X-rays came back negative, he would still have to undergo MRI testing.
But with him showing up to shoot around, he should be fully expected to suit up after being listed as questionable earlier in the day.
On the downside, Fedor adds that Darius Garland wasn’t present at the shootaround.
#Cavs Jarrett Allen (finger) is here at shootaround in a practice jersey. Not seeing Darius Garland (hip contusion) tho.

The Cavaliers’ point guard sustained a hip contusion in the win, and he’s now expected to be on the shelf for this game, at the very least.
Kenny Atkinson’s team has a date with the Boston Celtics just around the corner, and given the implications it might have for their playoff seeding and their morale, chances are they will look to hold Garland out to see if he can suit up against the reigning NBA champions.
The Cavs have a 46-10 record, the best in the league, and they control their own destiny to run away with the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
With that in mind, they must keep health at the top of their priority list from now until the end of the season, even if that means having their stars miss a game or two.
