The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the best story in the NBA this season.
While always considered a playoff team, few people thought they would be this good this season.
Kenny Atkinson has taken their offense to a whole new level while maintaining the same tough defensive attitude from the previous era.
That’s why his colleague, George Karl, shared some good wishes the Cavs’ way.
The retired coach took to X to claim that as much as he doesn’t expect it to happen, he would love to see the Cavaliers win the NBA championship this season.
I don’t expect it to happen but it would be pretty damn cool to see the Cavs win the NBA championship in June. pic.twitter.com/2PTwGWE71r

Karl has a history with the organization; he coached them for two seasons in the mid-80s.
The Cavs still have a lot of basketball to play this season, but judging by their record and the eye test, there’s no reason to believe this cannot happen.
Of course, big-market teams with big-name players will always get most of the attention and projections, but the Cavaliers continue to win basketball games.
They’re undefeated against Western Conference teams and have only lost one game at home this season.
Only three teams have been able to beat the Cavaliers, and only two losses haven’t been close.
One loss was a one-possession game on the road against the defending NBA champions, and the other occurred in a game that Evan Mobley left early with an injury.
It’s still early in the season, but the Cavs should, by all means, be a title favorite right now.
