Evan Mobley and his entire Cleveland Cavaliers squad have been on a roll this year and are currently the best team in the NBA.
Multiple players on the roster have been sensational in 2024-25 and Mobley has had his best season yet.
According to CavsMuse, Mobley is one of two NBA players with a total of 400 defensive rebounds and 90 blocks.
The only other star to reach those numbers this year is Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.
With Wembanyama out of the running for end-of-season awards, is Mobley the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year?

A lot of Cavaliers fans have been saying that Mobley should earn DPOY this season.
His average of 18.6 points and 9.3 rebounds is the best he’s ever achieved and he has looked incredible since the very first game.
For the last several years, some people have said they wanted to see more from Mobley.
They hoped that he would reach a new level, become more of a leader, and show more confidence and development on the court.
He has done all of that this year and the Cavaliers are playing so much better because of him.
He has been a permanent and vital part of the team’s frontcourt plans, working wonderfully alongside Jarrett Allen.
Because of Mobley, the Cavs are very strong on both ends of the court.
Being in a group with Wembanyama is a great thing because he is one of the strongest and most dominant defensive stars in the league.
This is further proof that Mobley is evolving and growing his game in some huge, undeniable ways in 2024-25.
