The Cleveland Cavaliers lost Darius Garland for a long stretch just a few months ago.
However, the team thrived during his absence and they climbed up to the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Since his return, Garland has been a bit inconsistent and has struggled with some aspects of his game.
But Donovan Mitchell made it clear to Chris Fedor, via Across The Cavs, that the team is fully supportive of Garland and believes in him and his skills.
“The kid has done a lot here. So much,” Mitchell said.
He continued:
“For it to be devalued all for a few games is complete B.S. It’s not fair to him. He’s done so much for us as a team. Before I got here. While I’ve been here. He’s going to get back to his form. The kid is 24 years old. It’s not always easy to figure out a fit. He has done a phenomenal job of it and will continue to get back to it. Come playoff time, he will be right there with us. We have his back.”
Hearing Donovan Mitchell talk about Darius Garland like this is all we need to know.

In the 12 games since his return, Garland has averaged 14.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
His season average is currently 18.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.
During Sunday’s win over the Washington Wizards, Garland scored 17 points and 7 assists, shooting 6-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-9 from the three-point line.
It is completely understandable that Garland would need some time to look like his old self and find his rhythm again.
He was gone for a considerable amount of time and a return like this always requires an adjustment.
Additionally, the team was forced to change a lot without Garland and he is now finding his way back into the rotation.
No matter how long it takes or the troubles Garland has, Mitchell says that the Cavaliers will continue to have his back.
