As speculation about his future with the team continues to swirl, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers is talking about the season ahead.
The Cavs tweeted a video featuring Mitchell speaking about how this season will be different than the last.
He said that the team now “[knows] what we can do” and every member is ready to improve not only the backcourt but the entire lineup in multiple ways.

Mitchell mentioned that he joined the team last summer, shortly before training camp began.
That didn’t give him a whole lot of time to work into the rotation and build chemistry with the team.
They were able to foster that culture and chemistry throughout the season, and they ended up being one of the best teams in the East.
But the team will definitely benefit from their full year together and another training camp.
In other words, the team has a lot of experience together now, and that could push them to the next level.
The Eastern Conference got tougher over the summer and that means that 2023-24 could be a lot harder than 2022-23.
Certain teams, like the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks, got stronger via trades, while others, like the Miami Heat and New York Knicks, proved they are better than people expected.
All in all, competition will be intense in the season ahead.
Therefore, it’s good that Mitchell is focused on what the team can do to overpower opponents and reclaim a high spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
