Although the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently enduring a three-game losing streak, there shouldn’t be much cause for concern as this time of the regular season is typically the doldrums of the league.
January basketball tends to be messy and less precise, as teams are fatigued and anticipating the All-Star break.
Therefore, the Cavaliers are functioning within reasonable limits.
Cleveland’s been arguably the best team this season, as they still remain atop the Eastern Conference because of their two-way play and star power.
While Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley have seemingly taken over as the team’s best players, Darius Garland ties everything together as their lead guard.
After struggling with injuries last season, Garland has bounced back and put up All-Star-level numbers.
Cleveland is enjoying a day off, which gives Garland a chance to celebrate a special day via the team’s official X account.
“Happy Birthday to our PG!” the Cavaliers posted.

Garland turns 25 today, so he is coming right up in his prime years as a basketball player.
The young guard is averaging 21.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists this season, strong numbers for a team full of quality players.
While the Cavaliers will be one of the hardest outs in the playoffs, they’ll need Garland to continue his play.
He’s one of their best on-ball players and shotmakers.
Despite his size, Garland has a knack for scoring and finding his spots, so it’ll be exciting to see how far he can lead Cleveland.
