The Cleveland Cavaliers have been rolling through the league during the 2024-25 NBA season, but it appears they are finally starting to run into a wall.
The Cavaliers have dropped three straight games with their most recent loss coming against the Houston Rockets.
Cleveland’s losing streak started off with a loss to Houston, and they didn’t fare much better in the rematch, losing 135-131.
While the Cavaliers have been missing important players like Evan Mobley, it’s still a bit jarring to see them lose games in this manner.
Head coach Kenny Atkinson has done a great job in his first season with Cleveland and responded to the team’s slump through Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan.
“This is three games we’ve lost by eight points total, so this is our first patch of adversity. This is the NBA, it’s tough. Fifth game in seven days, it’s a tough league and we’ve got a tough team coming in here next game. Good for our guys, though. We’ll bounce back,” Atkinson said.

As Atkinson notes, the NBA is a difficult league to play in, but on any given night, a team can overcome the odds to win.
In this case, Cleveland faced a strong Houston team that has surpassed expectations and should be considered a contender more seriously.
The Cavaliers will continue their homestand when they host a frisky Detroit Pistons team that is rounding into form.
Cleveland may be ailing, but they still have a good shot of snapping their losing streak against Detroit.
