The Cleveland Cavaliers have made NBA history multiple in this incredible season.
Their win record is remarkable and unlike anything fans have seen in years.
According to NBA History on X, the Cavaliers are now just the ninth team in league history to start a season at 17-1.
This was last done by the Golden State Warriors, who went 18-0 in the 2015-16 season.
Of course, that team fought all the way to the NBA Finals, so does the same fate await the Cavs?
The @cavs are the 9th team in NBA history to start the season at least 17-1:
2024-25 Cavaliers: 17-1
2015-16 Warriors: 18-0
2002-03 Mavericks: 17-1
1996-97 Bulls: 17-1
1993-94 Rockets: 17-1
1990-91 Trail Blazers: 17-1
1971-72 Bucks: 17-1
1970-71 Bucks: 17-1
1969-70 Knicks: 17-1 https://t.co/vQmrrP7BB2 pic.twitter.com/tswkBTTy3s— NBA History (@NBAHistory) November 25, 2024
The Cavaliers have lost just a single game this season, to the Boston Celtics.
They have taken down teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, and more.
After their defeat at the hands of the Celtics, the Cavaliers got back to work and took down the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors.
Next up for them will be two games versus the Atlanta Hawks, followed by the Celtics again on December 1.
That will be a must-see game for Cavaliers fans because it’ll be at home in Cleveland and the team is determined to get its revenge against Boston.
It’s impressive to see the Cavaliers make history but they have a singular goal for this season: reach the Finals.
They don’t care if they win every single game – none of it matters if they don’t go all the way in the playoffs.
Right now they have a very good chance of doing that but the season is long and making history right now doesn’t guarantee anything.
