We’re months away from the end of the NBA season.
However, the Cleveland Cavaliers have already assured more basketball games after the regular season.
As pointed out by Danny Cunningham on X, the team has officially clinched a spot in the postseason, as they can finish no worse than No. 10 in the Eastern Conference.
Of course, that would only guarantee them a spot in the Play-In Tournament.
Nevertheless, Cunningham revealed that they were just six wins away from clinching a playoff berth altogether by getting a top-six record.

Their magic number to clinch a playoff berth (top six) is six.

Barring a major disaster and a never-before-seen turn of events, the Cavs won’t lose every remaining game on their schedule, so the chances of clinching a top-six berth are pretty big at the moment.
This team has had the best record in the East and the NBA for most of the season, so it’s not much of a surprise to see them become the first team to get the nod to play more basketball.
They’re currently 37 games above .500, and they will most likely win 50 games before they even lose 15.
Just a handful of teams can brag about having that kind of regular-season success.
Needless to say, it will mean little unless they get the job done when it matters the most.
Some people still have doubts about whether they will be as dominant in a seven-game playoff series.
Then again, with the way they’ve played all year long, other teams would be making a huge mistake by trying to look past them.
