The Cleveland Cavaliers are the best team in basketball this season; there’s no other way around it.
They have the best record in the league by a significant margin and sit atop the list in several offensive categories.
They also play strong defense, and their record doesn’t lie.
As shown by Legion Hoops on X, the Cavaliers went 12-1 in December, which was the best record in the league during that span.

They’re healthy for the most part, and their core four has looked elite this season.
With Evan Mobley taking a leap as a scorer and Darius Garland looking more comfortable and aggressive on both ends of the floor, this team’s ceiling just got much higher.
Of course, some people still overlook the Cavaliers and what they’ve been able to do this season.
That’s often what happens to small market teams.
Besides the days they had LeBron James, they have rarely gotten the credit they deserve.
Then again, the only way to earn that will be to replicate this success in the playoffs.
We’ve seen multiple teams fall off a cliff when it matters the most multiple times, which is why some fans and analysts will continue to question this team’s prospects in a seven-game series.
Even so, only three teams have been able to beat the Cavs this season.
If they make a few moves at the trade deadline, this team won’t have any flaws moving on, at least roster-wise.
