Opening night for the Cleveland Cavaliers is just a couple of months away but we already know what one of the major storylines for the start of the season will be.
While the official NBA schedule hasn’t been released just yet, the latest rumor says that the Cavaliers will open the season on the road against the Toronto Raptors.
Apparently, one of the games on October 19 will feature the Cavaliers up north in Toronto facing off against the Raptors.

That means that two of the most talked-about and beloved rookies of last year, Evan Mobley of the Cavs and Scottie Barnes of the Raptors, will be battling it out in the opening game.
All eyes will be on these two in order to get an idea of which will have the better second season.
Sure, it’s just one game but a lot of attention will be paid to the Cavaliers versus the Raptors on October 19.
Playing For The Playoffs
Most people don’t assume that either team will make the NBA Finals at the end of next season.
However, there are many fans who think both teams could easily make the playoffs.
In fact, they will likely be about evenly matched, which means these two squads could be attempting to outdo each other all season long.
Therefore, the output of both Mobley and Barnes will be very important because they are the sort of young players who can really help their teams.
Barnes, last year’s Rookie of the Year, was a bonafide smash for Toronto, while Mobley was in contention for ROY and was a breakout star in the East.
Cleveland and Toronto will both be desperate to claim supremacy in the months ahead and it all starts on opening night.
