The Cleveland Cavaliers have made no secret of their desire to have a strong postseason run soon.
They thought that was going to happen this year but a slew of injuries slowed them down and they didn’t even make it out of the play-in tournament.
Thursday night’s draft was a chance for the team to get even stronger and closer to that playoff push.
#Cavs President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman called Ochai Agbaji a "finished product" and said that due to Cleveland's position as a near playoff team, it made it more justifiable to take the former Jayhawk at 14.

With the 14th pick in the draft, the Cavs went with Ochai Agbaji out of Kansas.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound wing will fit in nicely with the Cavaliers and will hopefully be able to shoot and defend at the same time.
President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman sure thinks so.
Altman called Agbaji a “finished product” who would greatly assist in Cleveland’s quest to become playoff contenders.
Fans of the team sure hope Altman is right.
What The Cavs Need
Being a rookie, Agbaji still has room to grow but there is already much about him that is very promising.
During his last year at Kansas, he put up an average of 18.8 points per game.
Additionally, he shot 41% from three and improved his field goal percentage every single year.
Scouts said that Agbaji has a high basketball IQ and also the ability to make an impact on the floor no matter where is.
You can see how he will slide right into the plans that Cleveland currently has.
Indeed, it sounds like he will be a great fit alongside the current Cavs lineup.
Is this the last move the Cavs will make during the offseason or are they hoping to tweak their roster even more before the new season begins?
The team definitely wants to keep moving forward after getting so close to the playoffs last season.
