The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t have a huge presence at the NBA Draft on Thursday night but they definitely did have a plan and followed through with it.
With the number 49 pick in the second round, the Cavs decided to go with center Isaiah Mobley of USC.
Of course, any fan of Cleveland recognizes that last name.
That’s because Isaiah is the older brother of Evan Mobley, one of the team’s current superstars and someone many consider the future of the franchise.
Big-time applause coming from #Cavs draft headquarters after officially making the official call on Isaiah Mobley.

The drafting of the older Mobley was met with acclaim and joy at Cleveland’s draft headquarters, according to Chris Fedor.
He said that applause was heard when Mobley’s name was announced.
What does this Mobley bring to the team and how can he complement and assist his brother’s quest to make the Cavaliers even better?
Brothers Balling Together
The older Mobley brother comes in at 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds and is known as a good passer for a man his size.
During his best season at USC, he posted 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and .9 blocks a game.
He was also named All-Pac 12 last season too.
It’s unlikely that he will be as important to the team as his brother is but there is a lot of hope that he will be able to develop and grow into a special part of the team.
The Cavs will need both Mobleys to be in fine form if they wish to continue a recent resurgence.
Cleveland just had a very promising season and are finally living up to the hype but they still have a way to go before they’re ready for the Finals.
With the help of the Mobleys – and the rest of this young squad – Cleveland could make a serious playoff run soon.
