The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t made many huge moves during the offseason.
That isn’t very surprising when you look at how they performed last year.
Yes, it is true that the team missed the playoffs last season but they also had a terrific regular season and have one of the best young cores in the league.
So, they’re not going to tinker too much with a good thing.
But the changes they did make were smart and could be very beneficial to the team’s future.

Bleacher Report sure thinks so: they ranked the Cavs’ signing of veteran guard Ricky Rubio as the fifth-best move of the offseason.
They summed it up thusly: “Ricky Rubio’s importance to the Cleveland Cavaliers last season can not be understated.”
What did he bring and, more importantly, what will he bring in the months ahead?
Rubio’s Return
The last time he played for the Cavs, Rubio was averaging 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.
Not too shabby at all but he did more than score and rebound and assist.
Rubio is at the point in his career where he is able to teach other, younger players and help them improve their own games.
For example, Rubio has publicly stated how much he loves mentoring up-and-comers on the crew, such as Darius Garland.
That is exactly why he’s such a good acquisition.
He is going to do more than score his own points, he is going to improve the entire roster.
This is great news for fans of the team because, as mentioned, Cleveland has one of the most promising rosters in the league.
Rubio could help them all get even more promising.
