The Cleveland Cavaliers have been among the most consistent teams in the NBA this season.
Not only have they had two separate win streaks of 15+ games, but the Cavaliers have maintained their position as the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
People didn’t expect the Cavaliers to perform this well heading into the season, but they’ve gotten strong production from many of their bench players, and a new star has also emerged.
Evan Mobley helps the Cavaliers have a “Big Three” mindset, as he, Donovan Mitchell, and Garius Garland are the team’s most impactful leaders.
With that in mind, analyst Rafa Hernandez-Brito broke down the Cavaliers’ chances of a deep playoff run, indicating that Mobley will be the biggest piece moving forward.
“When you look at the game and see what Evan Mobley’s able to do, he really helps the three guys in front of him,” Hernandez-Brito said.
The #Cavs will go as far as Evan Mobley takes them. #LetEmKnow

While Mitchell and Garland are certainly impactful in their respects, Mobley might be the most important piece, as the team relies on him as a rebounder, scorer, and facilitator.
Leaning on their depth will also be crucial down the stretch, but if Mobley doesn’t rise to the occasion, it could be a quick exit for the Cavaliers.
With a loaded Eastern Conference, making a run for any team is going to be difficult, but the Cavaliers feel like they have the right pieces in place to make it happen.
Will a player like Mobley do what the team expects of him?
Or, will the Cavaliers fall short, needing to go back to the drawing board in the offseason?
