The Cleveland Cavaliers may not have the Sixth Man of the Year, but Ty Jerome’s impact cannot be overlooked.
He’s been one of the team’s glue guys all year long, and he kept that same energy going in the playoffs as well.
As pointed out by the Cavs on X, Jerome just set a new franchise record for the most assists off the bench (11) in a playoff game in team history.

He was excellent with the second unit in the 124-87 blowout win over the Miami Heat.
The Cavs didn’t have Darius Garland available for that game because of a toe injury, and that might be the case again on Monday night for Game 4.
Even so, Jerome has done his best Garland impersonation every single time he’s been asked to step up and lead the offense with the first unit as well, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.
Jerome’s court vision and efficient three-level scoring have been instrumental for this team’s success.
With Garland still dealing with a nagging toe injury, the Cavs shouldn’t force things or risk further injury, especially with Jerome there to take his spot.
While he’s clearly not an All-Star, and the team will need to rally behind their stars to take care of business in the postseason, every team needs this kind of player to thrive in a seven-game series.
