The Cleveland Cavaliers are the best team in the East, but they are not perfect, and they can definitely get better.
The playoffs will give them a chance to improve.
So, what should they focus on?
Speaking on ESPN Cleveland, per Emmett Golden, Brian Windhorst spoke about the weak spots in Cleveland.
He said they should try to improve their three-point shooting, which was “an absolute killer” for three quarters of the season but then below average toward the end of 2024-25 because Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland went through shooting slumps.
He added that the Cavs need to step it up with offensive rebounding, because that has been hurting them a lot, too.

Windhorst said the Cavaliers are a team designed to win a three-point shooting contest.
If Mitchell and Garland are going to be taking a lot of shots in a game, they need to make more of them.
All NBA players have off-nights at times, but the Cavaliers won’t be able to get far if these two consistently fall short from beyond the arc.
Yes, the Cavaliers have room to improve, but the good news is that the team knows all of this.
The point that Windhorst is making is one that Cleveland is surely aware of, and head coach Kenny Atkinson is probably trying to address it.
Because they secured their spot in the playoffs with ease, the Cavaliers have been able to take some time off, make game plans, and prepare for the opening round.
They have been looking at their weak points and trying to fix them ahead of their series against the Miami Heat.
Now it’s time to see if the planning and coaching pays off.
