The Cleveland Cavaliers will have plenty of time to regroup and restore their health.
Securing the No. 1 seed gave them some peace of mind ahead of the first round of the playoffs, and with the league adding the Play-In Tournament, they can just sit back and relax for a while.
Of course, some argue that spending so much time off can lead to rust and the loss of some momentum.
That might be the case further down the road in the playoffs, but at this point, it’s more of a well-deserved break.
Notably, that’s why Matt Fontana isn’t worried about that.
Talking on his show, he claimed that he wasn’t afraid of the team losing its ground because of some rest.
“Are you worried about the Atlanta Hawks beating the Cavs four times in two weeks?” Fontana asked.
Do you think the #Cavs will be rusty in their first playoff series after this break? #LetEmKnow

Then, when asked whether he thought the Atlanta Hawks could beat the Cavs four times in a seven-game series, he argued that the Cavs already took their best player in De’Andre Hunter.
Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with that reasoning.
The Hawks beat the Cavs in back-to-back games earlier in the season, but they had Hunter and Jalen Johnson.
That’s not the case anymore, and they now have an athletic 3-and-D wing to throw at them.
Moreover, the Hawks first need to beat the Miami Heat in their next game to secure a spot in the playoffs.
As things stand now, the Cavs should be heavily favored to beat both of their potential postseason foes, especially after their starters got some much-needed rest ahead of the start of the playoffs.
