The Cleveland Cavaliers only have four more regular-season games left before the playoffs start.
Two of those games are against the Indiana Pacers, one is against the New York Knicks, and their other matchup is Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.
While they’ve been dominant for most of the year, the Cavaliers have not yet locked up the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
If they lose out and the Boston Celtics win out, they will be overtaken by the reigning champs.
The good news for the Cavaliers is that four-game losing streaks don’t seem to be in this team’s DNA, and they’re hoping to clinch a spot with a win against the Bulls.
They’ll be without Donovan Mitchell, as reporter Evan Dammarell noted on X, having a left ankle sprain.

This injury doesn’t appear serious, something that could make him lose a lot of time, but there’s always a risk that injuries can turn into something more.
With that in mind, the Cavaliers are being extra cautious with one of their best players, wanting to save his best efforts for when it matters most in the playoffs.
Regardless of seed, the Cavaliers are in a strong position to make a deep postseason run, as they’ve been among the best teams in the league all year, and have performed well against the top teams from each conference.
As long as they are healthy, most people believe their ceiling is the Eastern Conference Finals, if not the NBA Finals.
