The Cleveland Cavaliers could’ve lost much more than just the game on Sunday night.
They tried to clinch the best record in the Eastern Conference, but the Sacramento Kings had different plans.
Eventually, they lost 120-113, and Donovan Mitchell survived a major health scare.
The former Utah Jazz star turned his ankle early in the third quarter after stepping on the back of Kings’ guard Keon Ellis’s foot.
He was in clear pain and stayed on the floor for a while before ultimately walking it off and entering the locker room without help.
When asked about that, Mitchell claimed that he was determined to get the No. 1 seed, which is why he returned and kept playing through it (via Daryl Ruiter).

Mitchell returned to the court with roughly three minutes left in the third quarter and was out there for the remainder of the game.
He finished the night with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists, but it wasn’t enough for his team to stay afloat.
Mitchell added that he will try to give it a go to be on the floor when they face the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.
On a more positive note, backup point guard Ty Jerome returned after a five-game absence due to a sore left knee.
He chipped in with 20 points off the bench, including ten in the fourth quarter, to try and make a run at a comeback.
Barring a catastrophe, the Cavs will still have the No. 1 seed in the East, but they will just have to wait a little longer.
