The Cleveland Cavaliers have just six games left until the end of the regular season.
They have a five-game lead over the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, feeling good about their chances to secure the No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs.
Cleveland has been dominant all year, finding ways to win against many top-tier opponents, even when they’ve had players out due to injury or illness.
They’ll be without two of their normal rotation pieces against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, as analyst Evan Dammarell noted on X, as Ty Jerome is still battling a knee injury, and Dean Wade is fighting an illness.
Ty Jerome (knee) and Dean Wade (illness) are OUT for the #Cavs against the San Antonio Spurs.
For now, everyone else is available.

Everyone else should play, barring a setback, and the hope is that they can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win.
The Cavaliers’ strength this season has been a deep bench, and while Jerome and Wade are key pieces to their rotation, they can certainly win games without them.
If sitting them for an extra game or two in the regular season means they’re more than ready for the playoffs, this decision will be well worth it in the end.
This team is more than ready to make a postseason run, and if they can perform like they have in the regular season, the Cavaliers will be a tough out, especially in a seven-game series.
Will they be the representatives from the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals? Or, will they get bested like they have in previous years, going back to the drawing board in the offseason?
