The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to be one of the best teams in the NBA.
One of the reasons they’ve gotten to this place, having a strong lead over the rest of the Eastern Conference in particular, has been attributed to their depth.
This team has proven to be deep beyond their star players, so if those athletes have an off night for some reason, their teammates can pick them up.
Their depth mentality has led to two separate win streaks of 15+ games, and they’ve been missing some of their stars in those contests but have been able to fight through and win regardless.
Of course, having star power isn’t a bad thing, and Donovan Mitchell’s stardom was on full display in the Cavaliers’ most recent win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Mitchell not only finished this game with 25 points and eight rebounds, but his 14 assists were the most he’s logged in a single game throughout his career.

This demonstrated that Mitchell was unselfish with the basketball in this win and that he wanted to see his teammates succeed as much as he did.
The Cavaliers had six players in double-digits.
This team is seemingly peaking at the right time, and while they had a three-game losing streak in the past month, they’ve put that behind them and are ready to make a deep playoff run.
