It seems that the Cleveland Cavaliers are back on track.
They followed their season-worst four-game losing streak with back-to-back triumphs, and they made history in their latest outing.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, this was the 40th time in the season that they’ve scored at least 120 points.
Their previous record took place in the 1979-80 and 2016-17 seasons when they did so 24 times.
Tonight was the @cavs’ 40th time this season scoring 120+ PTS, their most in a single season in franchise history.
The previous mark was 24 times, done in 1979-80 and 2016-17.#LetEmKnow

This has been, by all standards, the greatest season in franchise history.
That’s a lot to say, considering they had LeBron James for multiple stints, including what some people claim was his prime.
Of course, none of this will matter unless they take care of business when it matters the most.
This team has yet to prove themselves in the playoffs, and some are still skeptical about their ability to dominate when the lights get the brightest.
Donovan Mitchell is going through a bit of a shooting slump, and he’s looked gassed and banged up in the playoffs multiple times in the past.
Also, he and Darius Garland have struggled against physical defenders for most of their careers.
Even so, there’s no reason to believe this team won’t be as good in the playoffs as they’ve been in the regular season.
They have taken down the best teams in the league multiple times, even splitting the season series with the reigning NBA champions.
They need to regroup and get back to what worked for them earlier in the season, even if they’ve already secured a spot in the playoffs.
