The Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t get the job done on Tuesday night.
They lost back-to-back games, and that’s not usual for this team.
Even so, there was a light at the end of the tunnel as Max Strus found his groove vs. the Los Angeles Clippers.
He finished the game with 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including five three-pointers.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, it was his first 20-point game of the season and the 32nd 20-point game of his career.
This is the first 20-PT game for Strus this season. It is also his 32nd time with 20+ PTS in his @NBA career. https://t.co/CsM5F9GEOp

Strus has had an up-and-down season.
He couldn’t start the year on the court because of a foot injury he sustained in the preseason, and while he’s been back for a while now, he’s been brought back slowly.
Moreover, with De’Andre Hunter’s addition, there might not be as many touches for him.
The Cavs didn’t play well vs. the Clippers for the most part, especially Donovan Mitchell, but this could be the beginning of a hot streak for the former Miami Heat guard/forward.
Strus has plenty of playoff experience, and he’s had some solid moments in the postseason; that’s everything the Cavaliers need.
This team has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the league this season, and while there’s still plenty of basketball to be played, it’s always nice to see role players gaining momentum when it matters the most.
Hopefully, he will be able to build from this and keep getting better.
