The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to dominate.
Kenny Atkinson’s team has been the absolute best in the league this season, and they haven’t taken their foot off the gas yet.
That’s evident in the latest edition of the league’s power rankings, as they still hold onto the No. 1 spot there.
As pointed out by NBA.com, the Cavs have the second-best defensive rating in the league since the All-Star break.
Notably, it’s not much of a coincidence to see that De’Andre Hunter’s presence has done a lot in that regard, as the team has a defensive rating of 104.8 when he’s on the floor.
The team has also outscored its opponents by almost 20 points per 100 possessions with him on the court alongside either Evan Mobley or Jarrett Allen.
The Cavs have won nine in a row against Eastern Conference teams with a losing record, and they’re 25-4 overall against the East.
They were the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season, and even though they’ve gotten off to some slow starts and Darius Garland has struggled from the floor over the past couple of weeks, they’ve still managed to get the job done repeatedly.
We have less than 20 games left in the regular season, and this team has proven that they’re no fluke at all.
They still need to prove themselves on the biggest stage, but judging by their performance this season, there is no reason to believe they can’t take care of business against anybody in a seven-game series.
