The Cleveland Cavaliers have been among the most dominant teams in the NBA this season.
They weren’t expected to be this strong heading into the year, but the Cavaliers have found ways to win, largely due to a deep bench mixed with their star power, led by Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Darius Garland.
After seeing how well they were playing and knowing that they could use more help down the stretch, especially in the playoffs, the Cavaliers’ front office was busy at the trade deadline.
They orchestrated a deal to acquire De’Andre Hunter, someone who showed a lot of potential with the Atlanta Hawks.
While fans initially questioned the move, Hunter has been nothing short of spectacular since he came to town, as CavsMuse pointed out on X.
Hunter is putting up 15 points per game and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field, 52.1% from beyond the arc, and 86.1% from the free-throw line.
De’Andre Hunter since being traded to the Cavs:
25.6 MPG
15.0 PPG
4.3 RPG
50.0 FG%
52.1 3P%
86.1 FT%And most importantly… an undefeated 10-0 record!#LetEmKnow pic.twitter.com/A7VlgD2M3p

The Cavaliers are also 10-0 since acquiring him, and they aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.
He might not be a starter for the Cavaliers this season, but if they win the NBA Finals, or at the very least, make a deep playoff run, trading for Hunter could be looked at as one of the team’s best moves in recent history.
It’s a luxury in the NBA to have a player like Hunter coming off the bench, and the Cavaliers have certainly seen the benefits of having him on the roster.
