The Cleveland Cavaliers needed Jarrett Allen to step up on Tuesday night.
Evan Mobley was going to get the night off, and even though Nikola Vucevic was out for the Chicago Bulls, it was still a lot of weight on Allen’s shoulders.
Fortunately for them, he still delivered.
Allen finished the game with 25 points and 17 rebounds on 10 of 11 from the floor and a perfect 5 of 5 from the free-throw line.
Notably, that stat line put him in some elite company.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, Allen has now joined the likes of the legendary Wilt Chamberlain (12) as the only two players in NBA history to have at least three games with 25+ points and 15+ rebounds while shooting 90.0% from the floor.

26 PTS, 17 REB, 11-11 FG (2/21/21 vs. OKC)
26 PTS, 18 REB, 10-11 FG (2/24/21 vs. HOU)
25 PTS, 17 REB, 10-11 FG (TONIGHT AT CHI)#LetEmKnow— Cavs Notes (@CavsNotes) March 5, 2025
Allen had 26 points and 17 boards on 11-11 shooting back in 2021 vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, then scored 26 with 18 rebounds on 10-of-11 from the floor in 2021 vs. the Houston Rockets as well.
Needless to say, Allen isn’t the dominant offensive force that Wilt Chamberlain was, and he did his damage against a center-less Chicago Bulls team, but that doesn’t make this any less impressive.
The Cavs were missing arguably their most important piece and still delivered.
More than that, they came back from a 15-point deficit to run away with a 22-point win on the road, once again proving to be one of the most even-keeled and resilient teams we’ve seen in recent years.
Allen doesn’t get enough credit, and he didn’t get the All-Star nod he deserved, but his name is now a part of NBA history books.
