For the first few moments of the game, it looked like the Boston Celtics were going to easily defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
But that didn’t end up being the case and the Cavaliers stormed back and secured a strong 123-116 win over the reigning champions.
A lot of people were blown away by the Cavaliers’ strong showing, including NBA icon Magic Johnson.
Johnson took to X to celebrate Cleveland and the performances of two of its biggest stars, Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
“In the Celtics vs. Cavaliers game, Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell was superb and finished with 41 points. He got a lot of help in the 4th quarter from Evan Mobley who had a 17 point, 12 rebound double-double and did most of his damage in the 4th quarter,” Johnson wrote.Â

Johnson isn’t the only one giving shout-outs to Mitchell and Mobley because these two had a great game and made victory possible.
Mitchell looked like a man on a mission and was impossible to slow down at times.
His 41 points were from all over the court, including five from downtown.
As for Mobley, his 17 points and 12 rebounds were massive and yet another great showing from the big man, who is currently averaging 18.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game this year.
This game was sure to get a lot of attention because it was a competition between the two best teams in the East.
With this victory, the Cavaliers held onto their position as the top seed and they evened the season series, 2-2.
There is a very good chance that the next time they meet will be in the playoffs and now everyone is wondering how they will do at that time.
We have already gotten great basketball from the Cavaliers and Celtics all season long, but will the playoffs give us?
