The Cleveland Cavaliers’ quest to get the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference will resume on Sunday.
Unfortunately, they will most likely be undermanned.
As pointed out by Ethan Sands on X, Kenny Atkinson’s team might be without two of their best players, as Jarrett Allen (right index finger sprain) and Darius Garland (left hip contusion) are questionable against the Memphis Grizzlies.
For the #Cavs’ game on Sunday, Jarrett Allen (right index finger sprain) and Darius Garland (left hip contusion) are questionable against the Memphis Grizzlies.
We will likely get more insight on their injuries from Kenny Atkinson pregame. #LetEmKnow

Sands adds that we will most likely know more about their status closer to tip-off.
Both players sustained those injuries in the big win over the New York Knicks.
The Cavs put up 142 points in the win, and they didn’t need to have their starters there for most of the game, but that still wasn’t enough to keep them out of harm’s way.
Needless to say, the Grizzlies will be a tough opponent to get past, even if the Cavs have both of their stars available.
With the way they’ve played this season, perhaps they will err on the side of caution and allow both of them to get some more time to rest and heal.
We’ve just entered the most crucial stretch of the regular season, and the Cavs can’t afford to be without any of their core players when it matters the most.
Also, with yet another matchup with the top-seeded Boston Celtics just around the corner, they might look ahead and decide to keep them fresh for that game.
It’s not ideal, but with such a big lead in the standings, they have to consider it.
