The Cleveland Cavaliers have the best record in the Eastern Conference, even ahead of the defending NBA champions.
It doesn’t seem to be much of a coincidence that they’re doing this during Evan Mobley’s breakout season.
We had already seen his defensive potential, but watching him turn the page as a scorer and add more layers to his offensive game has been a major factor as well.
That’s evident in the elite list he’s a part of.
As shown by CavsMuse on X, the USC product is currently one of just four players to average at least 18 points, nine rebounds, and one block this season.
The others are three Defensive Player of the Year – and maybe even MVP – candidates like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, and Victor Wembanyama.
Players this season averaging at least 18 PTS, 9 REB, 1 BLK per game:

Mobley’s newly found shooting stroke and much-improved left hand are just the tip of the Iceberg.
Overall, his points-per-game averages aren’t impressive or much better than they were in the past, but he’s getting his points in different and more efficient ways now.
He’s been a more willing and accurate shooter from beyond the arc, and he’s been much more aggressive in getting to his spots and making the most of his length and size advantage in the restricted area.
Once he grows accustomed to being more involved in the flow of the offense, it’s not far-fetched to think that he could be looking at something closer to 23-25 points per game.
Mobley has been in the league for years, but he’s still far from a finished product.
