The Cleveland Cavaliers have assembled quite an impressive roster as the NBA season inches closer to the stretch run, and they made the most underrated trade of the season by acquiring two-way wing De’Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks at a reasonable price.
Hunter is apparently the answer to their need for a rangy starting small forward who can effectively guard some of the best wings in the NBA while also providing 3-point shooting and even some scoring.
Cleveland gave up Caris LeVert and Georges Niang to get Hunter, which depleted their bench a bit, but they could be on their way to replenishing some of that lost depth.
Per Shams Charania, Javonte Green of the New Orleans Pelicans has agreed to a buyout of his contract and is planning on joining the Cavs once he clears waivers.

Green, 31, went undrafted out of Radford University in 2015, and he spent the first four seasons of his pro basketball career in Europe before joining the Boston Celtics for the 2019-20 season.
He is averaging 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 21.8 minutes a game this season, and he is an athletic 6-foot-5, 205-pound wing who can attack the basket and play some defense.
The Cavs have a 44-10 record right now, which puts them comfortably in first place in the Eastern Conference and has them tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the NBA.
They have 29 games left in the regular season to gear up for what they hope will be a run to their second world championship.
