The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be running away with the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed as they’re currently five-and-a-half games up on the Boston Celtics midway through the 2024-25 NBA season.
The Cavaliers are sporting a 36-8 record, though they’ve run into some speed bumps the past week after suffering losses to the Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Their most recent loss to the 76ers particularly stung as they’ve been an inconsistent team this year and have been marred by injuries.
In Cleveland’s defense, they were without Evan Mobley, who has missed the past four games with a calf injury.
Even without Mobley available, the Cavaliers were still considered favorites to win, so fans were understandably disappointed when the result wasn’t in their favor.
However, Sam Amico believes that Cleveland simply needs to regroup before its game against Houston via Full Court Cleveland.
“You’ve got something else to focus on the next day,” Amico said.
Despite two disappointing losses, the #Cavs have to get back on their saddle tonight. #LetEmKnow

There’s little reason to doubt the Cavaliers’ ability to rebound.
They’ve proven to be a resilient group this season.
While Mobley’s status is uncertain, Cleveland still has enough players on its roster to avenge its loss to Houston.
True championship contenders are able to weather storms in the regular season, and this is an excellent opportunity for the Cavaliers to reinforce their status as favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference.
It will be interesting to see how Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen perform against the Rockets, who are also thriving at this point in the regular season.
