The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to rack up wins during the 2024-25 NBA season, though they have stumbled a bit lately.
The Cavaliers were blown out in their most recent loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, just a week after beating them in arguably the best regular-season game.
Cleveland also lost a game to the Indiana Pacers earlier this week.
However, they got their revenge when they squared off again in the next game.
While the Cavaliers don’t have much to fret about, midseason adversity raises questions about whether they can sustain their winning pace.
However, former Cleveland players like Booby Gibson believe the recent losses can actually be considered a good thing via Full Court Cleveland.
“I want the guys to stay mad, stay hungry, and play with a mentality that we want to take people out,” Gibson said.
A little adversity isn't always a bad thing for a team that has had a near-perfect season like the Cavs. #LetEmKnow

As Gibson mentioned, sometimes so much success can lead to boredom and complacency on a team like the Cavaliers, so losses can help refocus the group.
Of course, Cleveland would love to win every game the rest of the way, but given how the NBA works, that’s just not possible.
Still, as Gibson implied, it’s not the end all be all to lose a couple of regular season games in January when other teams are also going through a malaise.
There’s not much to worry about a Cleveland team that appears focused and ready to win a championship, so it’ll be interesting to see how they respond.
