Forty games into the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a 34-6 record.
They’re on pace to win almost 70 games and record the greatest season in franchise history.
That means that their pillar players are obviously off the table.
However, that doesn’t mean they’re not a flawed roster.
According to multiple reports, they’re currently trying to trade for Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson.
Nevertheless, they’re not alone in their pursuit, so Jonathan Peterlin doesn’t see it happening right now.
On 92.3 The Fan, he argued that the Cavs don’t have enough to land Johnson.
"Unless we get a third team involved, I don't know how it's going to happen. We don't have the ammo right now. I just don't see how it's possible right now." @JPeterlin to @NickWilsonSays on #Cavs reported interest in #Nets SF Cam Johnson 🏀

The Nets reportedly want to add multiple first-round picks for the UNC product.
Of course, that seems a little too much.
Then again, at least half a dozen teams are keeping tabs on the sharpshooter, so they have all the leverage right now.
Peterlin believes that the only way to close a deal is to involve a third team, and even then, it would be tricky.
The Cavs have reportedly made their top eight players unavailable – as they should.
They can’t mess with this chemistry.
And even though good things can still get better, they need to be extra cautious about making a move they could regret.
Even so, they must still address their lack of size and physicality on the wings, even if it’s not with Johnson.
