The Cleveland Cavaliers currently have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and it’s not particularly close.
They also have the best record in the NBA as a whole.
That’s why it wouldn’t be wise for them to blow up their roster or make any big moves.
If anything, the team has developed a strong rapport and chemistry on and off the court, and you never want to disrupt that.
Nevertheless, this isn’t a flawless team by any means – no team is.
With that in mind, Joe Vardon of The Athletic believes they should target Brooklyn Nets veteran Cam Johnson.
He could solve their most glaring issue, which is the wings’ lack of size and physicality.
When the Cleveland Cavaliers lose this season, the opponent wields distinct advantages in size and physicality on the perimeter. Trading for Cam Johnson would solve that, @TheAthleticNBA https://t.co/ACfUWtoPF1

Johnson is a great three-point shooter, which bodes well for Kenny Atkinson’s free-flowing offense.
The Cavs are the Association’s No. 1 three-point shooting team.
He’s also a solid defensive player.
He’s also big enough to hold his own against both forward spots and the most talented wings in the league.
While he’s not a superstar by any means, he could provide this team with the 3-and-D spark they need at the wings while Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland handle the bulk of the offense.
Also, he’s fully expected to be traded before the trade deadline, so even though multiple teams could and should be interested in his services, he shouldn’t be that hard to get.
This roster is doing just fine, but even good things can be better.
