It’s unusual to see an NBA team with four players in the All-Star Game.
It’s also unusual to see a team win 33 of their first 37 games.
Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson is almost guaranteed to be there, and at least four of his players should also be considered.
Unfortunately, the fan vote carries a lot of weight in selections, meaning small-market players don’t always carry that much recognition.
Also, simple stats don’t favor the Cavaliers’ case when comparing them to other players.

Donovan Mitchell is the leading scorer on the best team in the league, which should be enough on its own.
He’s shooting 41.0 percent from 3-point range on more than nine attempts per game and is third in fourth-quarter points.
Darius Garland is posting the best offensive, defensive and overall box plus-minus of his career.
He leads the Cavs in on/offensive differential, posting the highest scoring average per 36 minutes in his career.
The video pointed out that Jarrett Allen ranks No. 3 in the East in win shares, No. 1 in field goal percentage, and No. 4 in both defensive rebound percentage and dunks.
Last but not least, Evan Mobley is posting the highest scoring average per 36 minutes in his career.
He’s shooting 41.4 percent from deep despite increasing his 3-point attempts by 1.5 per game and is posting the best steal percentage of his career.
