The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t make a lot of moves in the offseason.
They kept pretty much the same core of players.
However, replacing J.B. Bickerstaff with Kenny Atkinson proved to be the best move for both parties.
More than that, they found a big reinforcement from within.
Ty Jerome, who missed most of his first season with the team with an injury, has had the best season of his career.
He made a huge impact off the bench in the win vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 15 points on 6-of-7 from the floor, adding two rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
With that in mind, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins took to X to praise him for how he’s played, adding that sometimes, it just takes a coach who believes in you to finally find your place in the league.
Ty Jerome is the perfect example of… all you need is one Coach and organization to believe in you.

Jerome got off to a scorching-hot start to the season and he should be one of the leading candidates to win Sixth Man of the Year.
He’s currently averaging 10.1 points and 3.5 assists per game on 50% from the floor, and he’s been a major offensive catalyst with the second unit.
On top of that, he’s also been able to take some pressure off Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell when he’s on the court with them, as he’s usually the primary playmaker in those scenarios.
The Cavs are the best team in the league this season, and while the core four deserve most of the credit, their role players have also done their part.
