Not so long ago, several analysts and fans urged the Cleveland Cavaliers to break their roster up.
They argued that they needed to break up their frontcourt duo, as Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley could not coexist on the court.
Fast forward to today, and the Cavs are sitting on a league-best 31-4 record.
Plenty of that has had to do with their stellar big-man duo.
When asked about that, Allen showed his receipts and stated that they proved the world wrong (via NBA on ESPN).
“There was a lot of questions on whether two big men could work in the modern NBA,” he said. “I think we proved everybody wrong.”

To be fair, the early results of this experiment hadn’t been that encouraging.
Mobley looked much better without Allen and vice versa, and there were legitimate reasons to worry about the spacing.
Now, the equation is entirely different, with Mobley becoming a more eager, efficient, and aggressive shooter and his newfound shooting touch from beyond the arc.
Allen will never be a modern big man, at least when it comes to scoring.
He will get his points from putbacks, layups, dunks, and alley-oops.
Mobley stepping out to the perimeter and spreading the floor will be crucial to this team’s success – or lack thereof.
When it comes to defense, however, they might be one of the most prominent frontcourt duos in the league, if not the most.
Both of them are playing at an All-Star-caliber level at the moment.
Hopefully, they will get the recognition they deserve and be called upon to take the floor during the big game.
