“Oh where, oh where, has Isaac Okoro gone?” is a question that many Cleveland Cavaliers fans have been asking over the past several weeks.
Okoro re-injured himself in the Cavaliers’ December 16th matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, and he hasn’t appeared in a game since.
This injury wasn’t said to be too serious at the time, and his two-week window of recovery is over as of January 2nd, as Evan Dammarell pointed out on X.
FWIW wrt, #Cavs forward Isaac Okoro:
Based on the Dec. 19 release, his evaluation for his shoulder injury after the two-week recovery window is *technically* today. (⛓️⬇️)
He's also with the team on this trip. So, I'd say things are trending up.https://t.co/pf92XgtSHg

Dammarell pointed out that Okoro traveled with the team to Dallas, so he might be in a position to play sooner rather than later.
They’ve found ways to win without him, but the Cavaliers, of course, would much prefer to have Okoro on the court than off of it.
He’s become a go-to player off the bench during his tenure with the Cavaliers, and his presence has been missed on both ends of the floor.
Their record hasn’t necessarily suffered because he’s been injured, but that doesn’t mean they are happy with him being injured and unavailable.
The best ability for any professional athlete is availability, and Okoro hasn’t been available that much for the Cavaliers this season.
It will be interesting to see how the team views him moving forward, especially if the injuries persist throughout the year.
The trade deadline is getting closer by the day, and if Okoro spends more time off the court than on it, he could be a trade candidate, with the Cavaliers potentially hoping to find someone healthier.
